SUCCESS starts with clarity about your goal. Whether integrating new technology or aiming for growth, knowing your objective is key to developing a tailored execution plan. And yes, you might have more than one goal, but the same clarity is needed for each.
Every goal is UNIQUE to you and your team. Clear communication empowers your leadership team to develop a comprehensive plan covering staffing changes, training, purchases, and more—all geared towards achieving your goal in your setting with your team.
COLLABORATE with your team. After setting and communicating your goal, collaborate to build a plan covering budgeting, milestone measurements, actionable steps, and accountability. A collaborative approach ensures understanding and buy-in from the start.
COMMUNICATE AND COMMUNICATE AGAIN. Keep your full team informed about the plans, the changes, and the reasons behind them. Clear communication aligns everyone with the desired direction, preventing “reaction” planning by various team members due to a lack of knowledge about change.
EXECUTION is crucial. Start by working on your prioritized actionable steps, such as making changes to schedules, contacting recruiters, or developing marketing campaigns. The key is to take action and start seeing results.
SHIFT when necessary. Regularly review your results against expectations and be prepared to pivot if you’re missing the mark. Understanding why you missed the mark is crucial to staying on course towards your desired goal. Know your metrics and which one applies to a particular variance.
STAY the course. Alright, it’s number 7 but let’s be real – it’s less strategy and more pep talk. Keep focused on your goal, rally your team, and adjust as needed. Stay committed to making it happen!”
This is a quick snapshot of critical processes necessary to achieve success. It’s surprising the number of times I’ve witnessed the misalignment of major goals between owners and managers. Imagine the chaos and frustration that can ensue as a result. Collaboration, commitment, monitoring, and ongoing communication are keys to identifying misalignment before it derails progress and, in essence, keys to success. Happy to discuss the process in more detail, or ways that I might be of service. Here’s to your ongoing success!
